Alec Mullen-DeLand is a senior at UWB and former Clamor editor. He loves expressing his creativity and finds joy in creating through many different mediums including photography and painting. Atlas Kairos is a senior at UW Bothell, double majoring in Global Studies and Culture, Literature, and Arts. Deeply engaged with the complexities of the human psyche, Atlas is an aspiring artist captivated by psychology, history, astrology, mythology, spirituality, the occult, and the taboo. His academic and artistic pursuits are driven by a desire to explore and express the intricacies of human experience through various genres, including non-fiction, fantasy, poetry, sci-fi, and post-apocalyptic stories. His work often delves into interpersonal relationships and personology, reflecting his broad range of interests.
Annie Nguyen graduated from the University of Washington, Bothell, in the Spring of 2023. She majored in Health Studies and minored in Health Education and Promotion. She is passionate about serving her community and self-expression.
Belle Brandenfels a senior at the University of Washington Bothell. She is in the Law, Economics, and Public Policy program and graduated in March.
Brian King is a multifaceted artist with talents spanning photography, videography, music, and audio engineering. As an undergraduate senior at UW Bothell, he is pursuing a dual major in Interactive Arts and Sciences (IAS) and Media & Communication Studies (MCS). He creates dreamlike, hazy content that evokes a surreal, ethereal quality.
Caleb Tarleton has lived in the Northwest for his whole life and has been drawing with microns and sketchbooks since he was a freshman in high school. He tends to draw during class and lectures to help himself focus on what the professor is saying. Keeping his hands moving keeps his brain working.
Christopher Scott Eastman is a MCS major with a minor in Creative Writing. He intends to enter a career in Publishing, and writes creative fiction novels in his free time.
Chuck Frickin-Bats is a queer, non-binary, disabled sex worker and sex worker advocate who is obsessed with bats and goats. They always wear crop tops and have headphones on, obsessively listening to Sleep Token. After starting sex work in 2010, they quickly got involved in community advocacy and it is what drives their education. Chuck is interested in creating educational material to teach healthcare professionals and the public about the societal and health impacts of occupational stigma on sex workers. They also want to create access to healthcare for sex workers and other marginalized communities. “Nothing about us without us.”

Dylan Nicole Hansen is a junior at the University of Washington Bothell. She hopes to become an author and has already made efforts to reach her dream. She has published a short story, “Cage the Soul” in the Del Sol SFF Review. She has won an Honorable Mentions, League of Innovations award from North Seattle College for her short story, “Sitting Pretty”. She started writing as a sophomore in high school and has written three books over the years. She is a draft into her fourth book and hopes this is the one to get her published.
Elisa Balabram is an artist, lecturer, and the author of Ask Others, Trust Yourself: The Entrepreneurial Woman’s Key to Success and Mending a Broken Heart: Lili’s Magic Journey. She wrote a case study published by Emerald Publishing and coauthored the academic book Concise Introduction to the Family Firm published by Edward Elgar Publishing. Elisa is a second-year MFA student in Creative Writing and Poetics at UWB, working on her transmedia fiction thesis. Ellie Llewellyn Hudson is a writer, artist, and professional slacker at the University of Washington Bothell. She contains two hundred and twenty-six bones, seventy-eight organs, roughly six hundred muscles, twenty-seven teeth, seven-point-five meters of intestine, forty-six chromosomes, ten fingernails, ten toenails, an uncountable number of hairs and pores, and a little bit of a headache right now.
Ezra Jacob Bantum, 23, based in Seattle, began exploring visual arts through self portraits and surrealist photography. Through working as an assistant for Anida Yoeu Ali, he has refined his techniques in the visual arts while simultaneously writing and producing his debut album ULTRA\VIOLET. Using his multidisciplinary skills, he has successfully directed multiple short films and music videos within the past year.
Hannah Kemp is a Media & Communications Studies major at UW Bothell and minoring in Visual & Media Arts. She expresses her creativity across many different mediums such as photography, videography, poetry, and music. Jackie Susanto is a 21 year old student with a part-time job at Starbucks! As much as she likes to dabble in creative writing, she also likes to draw too! (A lot). Jay Reyes is a transfer student from Shoreline Community College majoring in Interdisciplinary Arts with a minor in Visual and Media Arts. Jay mostly does hand-drawn character illustration, having been inspired by superheroes and comics, but has recently been exploring other mediums of art such as graphic design, photography, and digital illustration. In his second year at UW Bothell, he hopes to improve his art skills and explore other mediums of art.

Jose Manuel Cuevas Lopez is a first-generation immigrant and UW Bothell student of Mexican descent who is double majoring in Media and Communication, along with Law, Economic and Public Policy and a minor of Visual Media and Arts. Jose enjoys to explore new areas and experimenting with editing and photography techniques. By viewing his images you’ll be able to question and wonder how the image was created and how it came about. Jose’s work will leave the viewer wondering how he got the image and transformed it to look more appealing. This works came about because of curiosity and adventure.
Karianne Hornberger is a senior at UW Bothell, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. She is passionate about mental health advocacy, disability justice, and talking about her cats. She believes art and creative writing are powerful outlets for self-expression, imagination, and connection, and they should be accessible to all. Through her creative endeavors, she hopes to show vulnerability as a strength and inspire creative expression as a way to connect with and care for ourselves and our communities.

Kit Thompson is a recent transplant to Seattle from Atlanta. They are a psychology and neuroscience student with a passion for writing — whether it’s short stories, poems, or Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. Other passions include embroidery, cross-stitch, and continuing to collect more college degrees.
Mae Ellen Abu-Alya is a second-year student in the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing & Poetics at UWB; her undergraduate was in applied computing. Her favorite genres are surrealist fiction, weird stories, and warped feminism. When not working on her thesis, she can be found attempting to partake in one of her million hobbies, trying to understand her step-cat, or being generally overwhelmed.
Max Poklonskii, a final-year student at UW, is making the most of his last year before entering the full-time workforce. As part of his explorations, he decided to write and share a poem. This poem touches on a universal experience that we all go through at some point in our lives. Max hopes that this poem can serve as a reassuring reminder that you are not alone, and there’s no need to lose hope.

Michelle Schaefer is a past Clamor editor and alumni of UW Bothell. Natalie Alvis, 25, from Seattle, has embraced art of many disciplines. After being recognized for excellence in Fashion Design, she became a classically trained pastry chef. In studying culinary arts in East Asia, she experienced a shift in focus towards visual art. Currently, she is exploring the connection between creative writing and visual art, producing works on a multidimensional level.
Nicolette Natividad is a senior majoring in Media and Communications Studies with a minor in Visual and Media Art. The art they present in this journal are exercises in introspection and exploration – a way for them to look into a mirror and come to accept what looks back at them. They hope you always choose to do what you love and find ways to keep yourself happy because that is all that matters in this short and meaningless time we share on this planet.

Waleed Badri is a Sudanese male who emigrated to Washington from his birthplace of Saudi Arabia at the age of 11. Inspired by his sister, he has developed a passion for drawing and illustration.
