On Tomorrow

I am declaring
	a national energy emergency. 
on assembling freedom,
	by dismantling it.
For choices taken, 
	or chances tangled
	in winds of change
	orchestrated by pioneers,
	walking the same line 
	again,
	and again.
Still leading us to ruin.


I am declaring, 
	a commonsense revolution. 
On annexing our voices,
	when integrity is on the line.
For being partial,
	or petty or disinterested,
	or indifferent
	or ignorant beliefs,
	that not choosing 
	makes you noble.
For praising perception over truth.

I am declaring
	we are one people, 
on foolish foundations,
	trapped in tandem tragedies,
of negotiating,
	our future with extremists
	in this golden age of living wage 
	and rage 
	and uncaged dysfunction, 
	creating without cooperation,
	American-made problems
For neo-liberalism, coded as progress. 


I declare 
	onward. 
Above the odds and toward freedom. 
	We must speak 
for today and our future.
	I will be engaged. 
	I will fight for you. 
	I will not forget you.
	I will not sit silently, 
	waiting,
for tomorrow to come.
